Join us please for the first AGSBS Biology Symposium back in-person since 2019! We are proud to announce the 49th annual AGSBS Biology Symposium will be held Thursday, May 11th,2023 at the Schulich ELC. Prospective participants will be adding their expertise to our invited keynote speakers, whose research ranges from various disciplines in biology. Our theme this year is Biology & Beyond: An Expedition to a World of Science. To celebrate 50 years of AGSBS, we look forward to expanding beyond the realms of biology as we know it and explore innovative advances in the field! We invite all graduate students to submit an abstract to present their research in a poster format or talk!

At this year’s symposium we will host two Keynote Speakers, as well as 6 student talks, and 20 poster presentations. The symposium will conclude with a Career Workshop facilitated by York Alumni, Dr. Chun Chih Chen.

Note that to attend and submit abstract submissions for talks or posters, you must register for the event.

If you would like to present your research in a talk-presentation format, please select ticket type ‘Student Admission + Talk Abstract Submission’. Please note the talk presentations will be 10-minutes and students will have the opportunity to vote for the Best Talk from Student Talk Session 1 and Session 2. The winners will be awarded a prize! Deadline to submit talk abstracts is Monday, April 10th,2023.

If you would like to present your research in a poster-presentation format, please select ticket type ‘Student Admission + Poster Abstract Submission’. Please note the poster presentations will be 5-minutes and will be judged by an assigned Principal Investigator. The winner will be awarded a prize! Deadline to submit poster abstracts is Monday, April 24th,2023.

You will be prompted to complete a form which will allow you to submit your abstract for a talk or poster. You will also have the option to indicate whether you would like your abstract to be considered for a poster presentation if you are not selected for a talk.

If you would like to attend the event without submitting an abstract for a talk or poster, please select ticket type ‘ General Student Admission’. Deadline to register for the symposium is Monday, May 1st,2023.
